sftask (“the app”) is a production-tracking and scheduling tool operated by The VFX Mentor for use by its studio and invited collaborators. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is used.
Who can use the app
sftask is an invitation-only tool for studio members. Accounts are created by an administrator; there is no public self-sign-up.
Information we access via Google Sign-In
When you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google shares a limited profile with the app using the
openid, email and profile scopes:
- Your Google account email address;
- Your basic profile (name) and a stable account identifier (Google subject ID).
We use this only to authenticate you and match you to your existing studio account. The app does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service or data.
How we use your information
- To sign you in and link your session to your studio user account;
- To attribute the work, schedules and changes you make within the app;
- To maintain a security and audit log of account activity.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Your Google user data is not used to train any AI/ML models.
Data storage and retention
Account and production data are stored in the studio’s private database on managed hosting. Information is retained for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, contact us at the address below.
Security
Access is over HTTPS. Sessions are protected with secure, HTTP-only cookies and CSRF tokens, and tenant data is isolated per studio.
